Greentrepreneurship

Green entrepreneurship and youth: these are the key words of Greentrepreneurship (GREENE), a new 2-year Capacity Building project co-funded by European Commission (Erasmus +, Key Action 2 – Capacity building in the field of youth). The project involves 6 organizations from Europe, Asia and South of America: PiNA (Slovenia) as project coordinator, CESIE (Italy), CCN (Nepal), Fundaciòn SES (Argentina), TYCEN (Tanzania) and CHECK-IN (Portugal).

The project comes up from the will to give a contribution to tackle youth unemployment, considering at the same time the environmental issue as one of the main challenges of our contemporary society. The project aims at strengthening knowledge and awareness about green economy potentials and at supporting eco-sustainable innovations through education and training activities, mentoring and counselling to empower youths’ skills, in order to overcome lack of professional knowledge and business skills.

The kick-off meeting was held in Bagamoyo (Tanzania), from the 1st to the 7th of September 2015. The meeting provided the involved organizations with the chance to discuss and plan local and international activities of the project, such as:

  • the development of an educational module for trainers;
  • an international training course in Nepal addressed to young workers who, in turn, once back to their countries, will take the role of trainers for young potential green entrepreneurs;
  • local educational training for potential young green entrepreneurs;
  • an international youth exchange in Slovenia.

During the meeting each organization introduced their own initiatives and the context where local activities will be implemented. Finally, the work on the educational module that will be developed in the next months has been started.
